From Burnout to Breakthrough: The Story Behind the WIN Room™ and the New ROI

The WIN Room™ began as my personal comeback story.

Today, it’s a proven method for helping leaders, sellers, and teams shift from the WAR Room of self-doubt to the WIN Room of self-leadership.

It’s not about doing more.

It's about interacting better.

There’s one skill every leader must master: The New ROI: Return on Interactions™.

Because every conversation with your team, client, or even yourself is either making money or losing it.

This isn’t just theory. It’s the reason traditional leadership training fails. It skips the most important muscle in your performance toolkit: the inner game.

My Wake-Up Call: Inside the WAR Room

Jaime and her two children early in her career.
Celebrating my 37th birthday with my children days after being released from the hospital.

I spent 15+ years crushing quotas at Gartner and Microsoft. From the outside, I was winning.

On the inside? I was in what I now call the WAR Room: Working Against Results.

Then it hit me (literally).

One day during a client lunch, I suddenly lost feeling in my legs.

An ER visit followed. Two small kids at home. No medical explanation.

Just a stress response shutting down my nervous system.

That was my wake-up call: If I didn’t learn to manage my mind, I’d never manage my life.

That moment forced a decision: keep worrying or start winning.

So I got to work… on me.

Mindset. Self-leadership. Rewiring how I thought, felt, and interacted.

The results were next-level. More presence. Faster deals. Stronger trust. Real performance gains.

That’s when I realized: this was the real ROI.

Why I Created the WIN Room™

The WIN Room™ wasn’t some grand plan.

It was a lifeline. A survival strategy. A moment of truth that became a mission.

When my body shut down, it wasn’t just physical.

It was my life telling me something had to change.

I’d spent years performing, pleasing, and proving.

Years of telling myself that pressure meant progress.

But behind every “yes,” I was saying “no” to myself.

That moment in the ER forced me to start asking questions I had avoided for years:

  • What do I actually need to feel strong, clear, and grounded?

  • Who am I when I’m not chasing the next goal?

  • And why am I so afraid to slow down and listen?

The answers didn’t come all at once.

They came through reps — daily practices that helped me rebuild from the inside out.

Slowly, I found a way to lead myself again.

That was the beginning of what’s now The WIN Room™.

Why Traditional Training Fails Most Leaders

Let’s be honest. Most leadership training doesn’t stick because it starts in the wrong place.

  • It teaches skills before it teaches self-awareness.

  • It focuses on strategies before psychology.

  • It’s often transactional, not transformational.

Leadership isn’t about checking boxes.

It’s about mastering interactions that create trust, clarity, and performance under pressure.

This is where the WIN Room™ flips the script and why 98.4% of people trained in the WIN Room hit their goals.

Every program is tailored to the individual or team, because we believe practice makes performance and performance is personal.

The WIN Room Method™: Training Like an Athlete

Just like elite athletes, leaders don’t rise to the occasion. They rise to their level of training.

In the WIN Room™, we focus on three core disciplines:

Understand Yourself (Emotional Intelligence)

  • Clear the head trash

  • Build your identity with self-data

  • Lead with Aim + Intention

Understand Others (Social Intelligence)

  • Decode your team, your buyer, your boss

  • Learn your leadership language

  • Communicate to connect, not just to complete

Master the New ROI: Return on Interactions™

  • Every conversation is a rep and every rep counts

  • Make money in every meeting

  • Build trust faster than your competitors

This is the real work of high-impact leadership, the kind that moves the needle on revenue, retention, and reputation.

What the WIN Room™ Really Is

At its core, the WIN Room™ is not a program. It’s a practice. A mindset. A place where we stop performing for approval and start practicing for alignment.

WIN stands for: What I Need.

It’s the opposite of the WAR Room where we’re constantly Working Against Results by overthinking, burning out, and pretending we’re fine.

In the WIN Room, we train differently:

  • Understanding Yourself — your real patterns, not just your goals.

  • Understanding Others — not just how to influence them, but how to connect.

  • Practicing the New ROI: Return on Interactions™ — because how you show up in conversation is how you show up in life.

It’s where leaders remember who they are and begin to lead from that place.

Why This Still Matters to Me

To this day, every time I step into a workshop, a coaching session, or a conversation with a leader, I’m reminded of that hospital room.

Of what it felt like to be strong, successful… and completely disconnected from myself.

I don’t want anyone to wait for a crisis to start practicing clarity.

You don’t need to burn out to realize you matter.

That’s why I do this work. Not to give people answers but to help them hear their own.

When you build that kind of leadership from within, the outer results follow… not because you’re chasing them harder, but because you’re showing up clearer.

Final Thoughts

If any part of this story feels like your story, know this:

You’re not behind.

You’re not broken.

You’re definitely not alone.

You might just need a new room to practice in: one where presence matters more than pressure.

That’s exactly why I built the WIN Room, so you don’t have to do it alone.
